just more foolin' around

OK, so here's the thing...Last Mother's Day (when my dd lived in the big city), we went shopping at JoAnne's and I decided that I really, REALLY needed these zig markers for my prize.

So I got them and they sat in a box on my desk until last night when I decided that they needed to be used or dismissed from my craft room! But, since anyone who knows me will tell you that nothing EVER gets dismissed from the cardsister craft conspiracy without good reason, I had to find a way to keep them a lot more "at the ready", so to speak!
I came up with this idea when I almost threw out the tin can 'cause I couldn't think of anything to do with it. As always MME was the cake and thickers (white vinyl) were the icing!

I guess I should explain the "work-it" block: OK, here goes! That was a piece of wood that dh gave me for another project that didn't...ah...well...just didn't work out the way I had planned. I covered the block of wood with my favorite MME and BG White Chocolate chip letters. I USE it now for stamping on. My table is a little uneven and I have a hard time getting a good press, but this block is working out great! Thanks for stopping by!!

WOW!

I am so blessed to have such talent surrounding me! This little rocking horse was made by my BIL-Rick for his new grandaughter. Too cute! And even though little Ava is still "tiny", she's gonna love this when she get's big enough to ride! I think Rick did a fantastic job and such a memory for he and Ava to share! Let me see...do I have anything I need made?

christmas card #2

This is Christmas card #2-I had hoped I had enough of the first ones to finish out my Christmas card list for 2009, but I was about seven short! I made these with the same idea, a window with a simple picture. I used glimmer mist, liquid applique, stickles and a spica clear pen which I bought from Yolanda at my favorite LSS-Memory Garden Scrapbook Shoppe! The border was made with Fiscars Treading Water punch. Well, I need to get busy-six more to make!

Looks like I may have at least five Christmas cards ready to mail out this year. I didn't have any to send last year so things are looking up!

somethin' new

I bought this curtain rod at a local hardware store the other day to put curtains up in the spare bedroom. After I got it home, I had another idea. What do you think?

got peaches?

This lo was done based on a trip that my in-laws took to Fredricksburg to buy peaches. The pic in the circle is my mom-in-law making peach pie. The arrow points to a bottle of wine and I labeled that as the "secret" ingredient! I liked doing the lo, it was a lot of fun!

moonglow

These are a couple of the pictures I scrapped for my Mom-in-Law's birthday album. Moonglow was the name of their boat and we (the family) really enjoyed our outings on it! I did the journaling in the white "rays" of the sun!

A C Bailey Jingle Bell Hop

Welcome to the AC Bailey Jingle Bell Hop! With the holidays literally around the corner, the AC Bailey Design Team has decided to help Santa (and you) out this year with some fun and easy projects to make the holiday gift season a bit easier. And just like Santa, we've also gotten some extra help this year and asked some additional elves to help out and post some of their cool projects too! And if that isn't enough help...we've also arranged for some early Black Friday sales just in case you need some products to get the projects completed.

So come out and meet our elves...check out their projects...leave a comment on their blogs and be eligible for a prize-upload some of your completed projects from the tutorials into the AC Bailey gallery and be eligible for another prize! Projects need to be completed and uploaded into the gallery by Tuesday, November 24th at Midnight Eastern to be eligible for a prize.

Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Cindy aka cardsister and I love making cards, scrapbooking, making journals and magnets and playing with paper! Be sure and visit all the blogs linked in this "hop" today, we have lots to show you!

MEMORY MAGNET BOARD

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock of your choice
Metal sign
Xyron or Modge Podge
Chain
Trim
Red Line Tape
4 wooden 1 1/2" circles
4-/34" magnets

Prepare the metal sign by wiping it free of dust. Cut paper 1/2" wider than outside of metal sign. Run through large Xyron or use thin layer of Modge Podge to adhere to sign. Distress the paper off the sign with a sanding block. Ink edges with Powder Puff Ink. Roll up 1" at the bottom of sign and put down red line tape. Adhere trim to bottom of sign. If the adhesive will not stick once you put the paper back down, use another line of red tape to adhere. At this point you can measure the length of chain and attach to the top of the sign. Punch four 1 1/2" circles from paper and adhere to wooden circles. Glue magnets on back. You just finished a memory magnet board!

Here is a sample of different types of magnets. The magnets are only limited by your imagination. The two pink ones are bottle caps, the square ones are layered with glossy accents and the round ones are clear marbles. Have fun!

Thanks for "hopping" by and hope you enjoyed your visit! Please make sure and leave a comment here so that you will be eligible for a prize! Now hop and jingle your way on over to Zenita's blog and see what's happening over there! Thank's again!

recipe card challenge

These are the recipe cards from Sandi's challenge at A C Bailey. The challenge was for pie recipes. Sandi did Coconut Merinque Pie, Steph did Derby Pie, Christina did a Fluffy Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie and I did Key Lime Pie. This was loads of fun! I put them in my recipe hanger that my dh made me and they look great!

take a look

I was going to try to clean up the craft room before I posted pics, but, really, there is no hope for this room (or me)! Just when I get it clean, I mess it up! This actually looks pretty good-you should see the closet! Since I have given up on this room I am a much happier person!! (and yes, I can still find anything I am looking for...eventually!)

notebook w/pen

I found this on one of my favorite sites-Chic' n Scratch a while back. She has such fun ideas and always makes them look so easy! I had fun with this one! I added the paper clip on the inside pocket-just gives it a more interesting look!!

Lots of Post-It-Notes

All these post-it-notes are going to be sold at my Mom's church fund raiser. I think the little covers for them are so cute! Some are made with double sided paper and some are not. I made one for my oldest daughter (forgot to take pic) in Seattle that said "Call your Mom" on the front. I also made one for a pregnant friend of my middle daughter (again, no pic) that had a giraffe on the front and I put "baby notes" on it. Really cute!! Thanks for taking a peek...

Soon 2 Be-Mom and Me! LO

I have been working on black and white photo's that my Mom gave me a while back. This one shows her when she was PG with me. I'm having fun with the old pictures, but I think I will move into the present for a while!

the wedding journal

As some of you may know, my middle daughter is getting married in June. I made her a journal to keep up with the details of the event, but I also made this one for myself. I'm so glad I did! I was thinking the wedding was a long ways off, but I have filled at least 15 pages already!

Cute Little Girls

I don't scrapbook very often, but I really like the way this LO looks. The paper is from Cosmo Cricket and I just fell in love with it! I don't really have a lot to say about it, except aren't those the cutiest little girls? The picture was taken in May of 1956. Any guesses as to who they are?

These are the Christmas cards that I made for my Mom. I really like the owl-he is all glittered up! The stamp is from Pink Cat Studio, double layered on Velum (ran thru the cuttlebug). Fun!

The Happy Journal

This is the happy journal. I called it that because of all the writing on the paper. It is more of the MME paper I have been playing with-LOVE IT! Tried to give this one to the daughter that loves green, but she didn't go for it. Maybe if I put a ribbon on it? Oh, well, back to the glue board...

Oh, Sweet!

I made this journal book for my daughter in Seattle. I hear she has "matters of the heart" on her mind.

Cute Magnets

I made the one on the left with a stamp set I found on sale at...not sure where, but it is pretty cute! It is colored with prisma pencils and pearl glitter. The one on the right is a borrowed stamp from Crafty Goodies. I colored that one with Copics and pearl glitter. They are really pretty, close up.

The "Creative" Journal

I am loving the MME paper! I made this journal just for fun. Not sure what to do with it at this point, but I never worry about that! It will end up in a good home...somewhere!

A New Year

It's that time of the year again! I made these two-year planners for my Mom's church group to sell at their fund raiser this year. I made two-year planners for everyone I know last year, so I have another year before making more for family and friends.
