End of Short Attention Span Challenge

I know I really made you wait for this one! But I couldn't announce a winner until I had at least finished my own example. I was trying to use the glitter and glue pad technique but it was really hard (or I wasn't doing it right...). Either way, I finally finished it, and I know it's not great but I really liked what YOU GUYS did with this challenge. You are all bookmark makers from way back! If I had to name a winner, though, (and I don't, but I will anyway) I would give that honor and distinction to Sandi for her old-timey folded paper bookmark. It seemed very Victorian and I really liked it. As your reward, you will get something cool and fun the very next time I see you (and it won't have anything to do with flies!) Thanks for your patience! Now on to the next challenge!

More Planners

OK, OK, I couldn't help it. I just made these planner covers and come on...they are too cute!! (Even if I do say so myself!!) I bought the doggie stamp at the rubberstamp show and used a "stick chick" on the beach themed one. I gotta make some more of these!!

Knittin'sister is knittin' all the time!

Here are some more of the hats that knittin'sister has made. The Christmas hats were made for a friend. There are a ton more, but most of them have been given to charity. She, along with a group of very dedicated ladies, are currently making hats for the cancer treatment center. I should mention that they also helped in the completion of 1,000 hats that are going into Durango, Mexico. Good job ladies!! I tip my hat to you all...

Meet the Newest Sister-Knittin'sister

Let me introduce you to the newest Sister on the Cardsister blog. Cardsisters and Craftysister's Mom or Knittin'sister as she is now known. Knittin'sister has just made these for her two great grand-daughters, Andi and Adah. (I've met them and they are great and grand) They are Craftysisters grand-daughters. (Sooooo lucky!!) She made a hat and shawl for each of the girls and a hat and shawl for their 18" dolls! So cute! You gotta love that! I know I do!

Two Year Weekly Planners

I made these just because I thought they would be cute. I was right. They are. Quick and easy is the only way to go on these. Really fun...The only thing is, I have about thirty of these cute little planners and I don't have that many friends and the new year is right around the corner. I may have to start passing them out at my favorite hangouts...Michael's, HobLob, Big Lots!, Grocery Store, Gas Station, Tuesday Morning, etc...Oh, well, better get busy!!

More Challenge Clips

Here are the clips I made for Katiebug's challenge. They are prima flowers with a glittered brad in the center. They are sprayed with gold perfect pearls, a technique I first saw at the scrapbooking show in San Antonio.

Katiebug Challenge-Paper Clips

These are the paper clips made by Scrappinsister. They are so beautiful with the long tassle and charm on the end? I just love them! (I even scored one for taking the pic!!! Thanks, Scrappinsister!) The chipboard tops on the clips are a nice contrast to the soft, elegant blue ribbon.

Challenge for People with Short Attention Spans...

Here it comes! Are you ready??? Well, before I even list the requirements of my challenge, I want to remind you that even if you don't like my challenge, at least you can use adhesive to complete it! The requirements for this challenge, The Challenge for People with Short Attention Spans, are as follows:

1. You are to create an original piece not seen previously in other blog postings.
2. Glitter MUST be present somewhere in your piece.
3. You are to use EXACTLY one brad or eyelet on your piece.
4. You are to use at least one technique observed in the 2008 Rubberstamp and Scrapbooking Expo- San Antonio.
5. You must do ALL of this on... a paperclip bookmark.

Good Luck! All entries will be judged by me (so everyone better be REALLY nice to me this week!)

Road Trip

Yes, the sisters did San Antonio big time!! This is a picture of me, techno-sister and craftysister at the Stampin' Up Regionals in San Antonio! We had a blast! A big, huge thank you to techno-sister for the invite-it was AWESOME! We learned a lot of new techniques and I can't wait to give them a go! (That's for you, craftysister!!)

I Fin-OWL-ly Finished!

(Sorry for the bad pun)... Well, it took 3 weeks but I finally finished! Can you guess what my focus stamp is??? I think Owls are so cute! And I'm so glad I got this stamp set! I'm thinking of the new challenge right now... what do you think about a "no adhesive" challenge??? (Just kidding!) I'll be posting the latest challenge on this blog soon... Stay tuned!

I Answer My Throwdown

I did play in the throwdown only because I am not judging this challenge. I've seen some of the entries so I am not worried about whether I can win this or not. I can't. (but it was still loads of fun)

Vicky answers the Cardsister "Throwdown"

Vicky (gonna have to give her a "sister" name) has answered the Cardsister card challenge! I have posted her entries to the challenge for the judges review. (Vicky was supposed to be a judge, but Cardsister talked her out of her box...for a little while, anyway! You go, girl!)

A Craftysister "Thang!"

When the sisters were at Casa de Belmont last weekend, Craftysister laid down a "side" challenge of her own. She gave cardsister, techno-sis and katiebug a piece of cardstock, buttons, ric-rac and a layout to follow. I haven't scrapped a page like this-ever! I had a great time doing it and I like the way it came out. However, I forgot the buttons (sorry, sis) but I did use some pretty Primas.

Card Throwdown

OK, here it is. The challenge you have all been waiting for. This throwdown is a card making challenge. This is how it goes: 1) Four cards-Happy Birthday, Thank You, Get Well and Thinking of You. 2) No cards can have the same layout. 3) You can use more than one stamp, but each card must have one stamped image the same and it must be the focal point of the card. There are no other requirements. My cards will be posted at the end of the challenge, same as yours. There will be a panel of four impartial judges (means they are not related to each other) who will agree on the winner (this is for the whiner-and you know who you are). This challenge is open to all who wish to participate and ends on Thursday 10/23/08 at noon. Good Luck!

This Card is DA BOMB (werd!)

That's right! This recipe card has it all! It's Martha Stewart meets Stampin Up and they both go to tea with Stickles and Ribbons! If I don't win this challenge... if I don't win this challenge... well, let me just say you can FORGET about receiving any moore care packages from me! (Not to try and influence the judging in any way.) This recipe card was totally worth the wait-- for me, at least. I only wish I had time to come up with my own recipe instead of having to steal one from Cooks.com...

Recipe Card Challenge

OK, little sister, here it is! My version of the "Cookie Recipe Card". I have answered your challenge and as soon as my creative juices start going again, I'm going to issue a challenge of my own. Here's a hint...think cards. Lots of cards.

A Nice Surprise!

What a great daughter I have! Katie sent me these Prima flowers and a sweet note just because...no reason...just because!! So sweet and thoughtful, always thinking of her Mom!! She's a great kid! Love you, Katie!!

Magnet Board and Pen Vase

I'm so excited about this flower arrangement I made last month. These "flowers" are actually fabric covered pens! This looks great next to one of my notebooks by the phone! I also like to turn ugly tin signs into fabulous magnet boards! It's so much fun and they make great gifts too!

Notebooks

I love to make my own notebooks. They are so handy to keep in your purse, the car, or next to the phone for grocery lists, messages, or any card ideas that might pop into your head when you're on the go! They also make great gifts! My daughter, Katie is a teacher and she likes to give these to all of her teacher friends!

Making Cards!

Here are some cards I made for my nice wonderful Sister! She gave me the "Sisters" stamp for Christmas and I just love it! I love to chalk, glitter, and use shimmering watercolors, but I also try to experiment with new techniques whenever I hear about them.
