We used to have a scrapbook store here where I live. The lady that owned it, I'll just call her Yolanda, because that was her real name, she got me interested in the A Muse Artstamps stamps. Her store has been closed for a year and I just now used these stamps for the first time last week! I'm slow, but eventually I get around to doing stuff...

Just seems like the wrong time of year for a "bird-day" card. However, my day and my dad-in-law both have bird-days in December. Is this card too girly? I did make the birds blue. Blue is for boys, right? Might have to make a more manly card for these men in my life, but this one is pretty (girly) cute!

This is the card I will not be sending for Christmas 2011. I would LIKE to send it...but I won't get it done. I still have to get them all made, so I probably will only get a few made, and then I still have to get them to the post office...that won't happen either. Making Christmas cookies takes priority around here, so this little dog (does look like Trixie, right?) will have to wait for another Christmas. I would like to thank my friend Vicky for the stamp-she found this a few years ago and I didn't know how I wanted to use it. I figured it out...thanks, Vicky!

Still playing with the kraft paper and October Afternoon's 5 & Dime! I do have to confess that I got this idea from Card Magazine. I used different paper, but stole the idea. Stole? That's such a harsh word. OK, maybe I "borrowed" the idea...I'll give it back later. Love that stamp. I went to Michaels just to find that stamp...I didn't have it in my stash of 5,000...so now I have 5,001 stamps! What's wrong with that? Not one thing!

I found this plain jane large clip at Hobby Lobby (again with the clearance aisle) for .50 cents! I just had to figure out something to do with it! So I came up with this! I made a "cardsister" card holder with it! I haven't remembered to use it yet-it looks so pretty decorating my craft room-but, soon...really soon.

I think the paper is from My Minds Eye. Blinged it with some Tim Holtz and the usual cast of characters. I think this is going to work out just fine...

I was playing around with some kraft paper a few weeks ago and came up with these cards. I used October Afternoon's 5 & Dime (8x8) paper pack. I really liked the paper in that one so I was really glad when Hobby Lobby put it in the clearance aisle! $4 (normally $9.99) for the pack! Gotta love a bargain like that! Of course my family and friends will tell you that anything with "clearance/sale/half-price" in the title will get me everytime!!

I'm a little behind the times, but I tend to stay there! I saw these here a while back and really thought they were super cute! I wanted to bring a little gift to my daughter when we go and visit her, so I picked up these small frames at Hobby Lobby and turned them into pin cushions! So easy!

This is my little dog, Trixie. She is a Westie and a real cutie. She loves these squeeky toys. She actually has several of these colored squeeky (ear piercing!) balls-they are all in the toy basket. She has never had two of them out at the same time. A real dilemma...Which one to chew...orange? Maybe green? Hmmmm this is quite a problem. This is also a dog with way too much time on her paws. Maybe I could teach her to do the laundry.

This is a journal I made with a lot of Tim Holtz product. The "journal" die on the side-used on the book and then again on a page from an old book, then layered over the die cut. Lots of stamping, more die cuts (cage), tickets, chain, clip, etc. I also used Prima flowers, butterflies and swirls. The paper is either TH or MMY-I can never remember to write this info down! It is interesting, isn't it?

This is the shadow box I made for my Dad for Father's Day. This was from all three of his kids, I just put it together. This is just a small fraction of the life he had in the Army National Guard. We (I mean my Mom) is always finding things that need to go in a place to celebrate his working life. This is it. Mom has already found some things to add to the box and there are some things we are on the lookout for. She'll find them...and then we might need another shadow box!

I found the rose ribbon at Hobby Lobby and thought it was so pretty. I have it in brown and black also. This white ribbon can be easily spritzed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist or Glimmer Glam. The Glimmer Glam I picked up at my favorite LSS, CRAFT CROSSING...although she isn't really local to me...she's about 300 miles away! Anyway, if you happen to be in Gonzalez, Texas, you might just swing by and check her out! It's worth the drive, trust me!

One of my biggest fans (thanks Mom) sent me a link of a lady that was making these for sale as a fund raiser. She didn't have the really cute cards that I made to put them on, but I did get the idea from her. These are metal washers that have been covered in patterned paper, covered in glossy accents, have been strung with twine and finished with a cute little bead. How easy is that? I had so much fun making them that I now have about twenty of them. These are necklaces, but they could easily be contorted into key chains or book marks. Think these may have go to the church fund raiser...

I made this hand scrub for a friend who asked for six jars! I made the label from Tim Holtz grungepaper and put some primas on them! Too cute, right? I used a Tim die and machine sewed the cardstock front to the label.

I bought this box over a year ago. My sis got one too. I'm sure she has very nicely finished her's and it has been put to good use. She is usually way ahead of me on this kind of stuff! Mine however, has just now been completed. It is pretty cute. I put my colored rose ribbon in it and some extra stuff like stickles and clear buttons.

I really like it, but I'm glad I only bought one! The frame is pressed wood and the drawers were cardboard. I had to tape the drawers together. Do you know how frustrating it is to have no pictures OR instructions? Oh, well, me and my feeble mind did manage to figure it out!!

Sorry the "the" got covered up by the ribbon. I didn't notice until I had already loaded the picture. Just pretend you can see it. It really is there.

This is the card made by my next Guest Blogger, Scrappin' Sister! You need to know that there is a story behind this card...

Oh, for the love of crazy friends...OK, here is the story. On Wednesday, Scrappin' Sister, Sassy Sister and Cardsister were hanging out at Hob Lob. We walked by the aisle where all the feathers and boa's were hanging. We noted that they had some really cute and pretty feathers. That's when it happened. I knew when the words came out of her mouth that this would be a challenge and Scrappin' Sister never walks away from a crafty challenge. Well, Sassy Sister (and this is only ONE of the many reasons she got this name) said, "You know, Mom, I bet you could use those green feathers as leaves on a tree..." Of course, the rest is history. We now have the cutiest card ever with green feathers as leaves. I hope that Sassy Sister never challenges her to use food on a card...unless it's chocolate!

I saw this card, yes, in Card Magazine! (Do you think I like that magazine?) This card looks very much like the one in the book done by Emily Branch (pg 49-January 2011). What I loved about this card was I learned something fun! The flower is made of circles folded into cones and then glued into a circle flower. This was a load of fun and I am going to make more!

This card was actually made using my (movers and shapers) horizonal card with the three circle punches. I die cut the card and it laid on my desk for a week because I had no clue what to do with it! Eventually I came up with this-I would love to tell you where everything came from but I forgot to write it down. Oh, well, no biggie!

Again with the Card magazine! I found a card very similar to this one, but it was done in various colors. I really liked the simple color combination of black and white with the pink of the little roses bringing the only color. I used the Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls embossing folder, Prima Roses, Rose ribbon, Prima Leaves (sprayed with dazzling diamonds glimmer mist), and the stamp set from papertrey ink.

I have an absolute abundance of Prima flowers and I love it...and them...which is why I have so many! I can't bear to use them, they are so beautiful...OK, not really! I do have alot, but I'm putting them on everything! Even the dog! (She's a girl dog so it's OK-she likes them too!)

I was reading my Cards Magazine today and someone had made little 4 x 4 cards. Mine don't look like her's, but I still think they are pretty cute. I think these could easily be dropped into a gift bag without an envelope or a gift...just checkin' to see if you're really reading this... Primas were used on all the cards (I am Prima poor, but could always be poor in that department and be quite happy about it), the stamp sets are by papertrey ink and the white pearls are by imagenesce (the ones you use the hot setting tool with). Had loads of fun, so since it is still early I'm going to go and have some more...fun!

These are the gifts that I made for the "walking girls". The "walking girls" are the girls (ladies) that I walk with every morning. Except on the weekends. I don't do weekends. Not now. Not ever. We clear on that?
OK, OK, just havin' a little fun. I made them a jar of handscrub, a lavander soap, a post-it-note holder and I put them in a kraft bag with two cookies on the flap. I think they liked the cookies best of all!!

This is a pen vase I made my mother-in-law for Christmas. She loves roses. I had made these before with daisies as the flower, but when I saw these roses at Michaels I had to try and make this for her.

I hollowed out the roses with a hot knife and then hot glued them to the end of an RSVP pen. I filled the inside of the pen with green Bazzill Paper (sorry, sis-I know there must be a law against that somewhere) and filled the vase with blue, silver and clear pebbles. I tied a green ribbon on under the rose and then spritzed the roses with Glimmer Mist (dazzling diamonds). I finished up by tying a tule bow around the base with an angel ornament for accent. I hope she likes it...

along with everyone else I know, I have been busy baking the cookies, cooking the candy, walking, decorating the house, planning the gift purchases (even got some bought), walking, wrapping, playing online, didn't make any christmas cards, I have been doing some crafty things, but I can't show them until after christmas, more walking, have a christmas party to go to tonight, need to go wash my hair, pick out my clothes, shine my shoes, you know, stuff...so there you have it. I have been busy just like YOU...just so you know...have a lot to get posted on here, but family is first so it may be a while...just so you know!

A while back I posted a kleenex box made out of the kraft paper with a snowman image on it. I decided to change it up a bit and came up with this one. I really like the way the red pops! I used the cuttlebug "spots" folder for the embossing and the stamped images were old stamps that I just happened to have four of. The letters were cut out of the Wingo Zingo sizzix strip and were just perfect for this. I used copics to color the images on the stamps. I even beaded my own charm. I even impressed the hubby...ok, not really...

I found this "idea" (and I use that word very loosely) at Hobby Lobby. They had a sheet of card ideas from T!m Holtz and I thought they were pretty cool. However on further inspection it looked to me like they would be very expensive cards with all his "bling" on them, so I made this one into a journal. I'm still working on number 2 (there were three in the set), but have about 10 projects in the works right now so...oh, well, one of these days...

I've been playing with T!m and having way too much fun! Used the urban tapestry stamp set on this notepad. I put clear rock candy distress stickles on the roses and put them on the corner (even though I actually did grunge roses for this project, they looked awkward and too big so I opted for these). The pink flowers were left overs from a magnet board I did last year. Gotta love crafty!

Cardsister isn't the only card maker in this family! My daughter Katie made this card. She is a big Westie fan just like me. I saw the idea for this planner in a card magazine. The paper is from 2008 and is called "A Country Christmas". See, I use my paper. I'm just slow...The letters are from AC, the initials are from who knows where (had them forever!) and the chain is from TIM HOLTZ! Love that guy!

hawaiian note book

OK, so it's not really Hawaiian...but it could be! Just imagine a tiny hula skirt around the middle of the book. This is another one of those "Gee, I wish I had remembered to take a pic of that before I messed with it..." but didn't books. I saw this book at Tuesday Morning and just knew I could think of something cutsie to do with it.
The paper is from K & Co. and yes I am still playing with that paper pack. I cut the letter out with the Don Juan Cartridge on my Cricut. The inside of the book is covered in the green paper that is under the words "notes". I put packing tape on the strip of paper that I cut for the words and when I cut them out they were shiny! I'm really having too much fun...

I got a little "T!m Holtz" on this one! I used the Brackets die to cut the card edge and the swirl die for the swirl at the top of the card. The paper is from K & Co, the butterfly is MS, the button is Jenny Bowlin and the stamp is from Papertrey, Inc. The feather is from my favorite white boa! OK, OK, it's not really my favorite boa...but I am pretty fond of it!

I was at Michaels the other day and since I had a 40% off coupon and looking to spend it I ended up buying this book (big book-380 pages) of paper (cause everybody who knows me, knows I just don't have enough paper) made by K & Co. I had all the cardstock, but this was PAPER. I fell in love with it and can't stop playing with it. It is so cool!!

Didn't these little stamps make the cutiest gift tags? The one with the dog says "I could wag my tail!" on the inside. Thought it would be cute on a jar of grape jelly or a plate of cookies. Just love that little Chihuahua...he has such buggy eyes and his hat was fun to color! I actually made about twenty of these little gift tags and I'll post more of them later.

I posted this just like it is and then I realized that BOTH of the cards were dogs! Oh, well, I mean the dog on your left...how's that...

I found this stamp (Studio G) at Michaels! It's a cling stamp and soooooo cute! I stamped the image on a bling piece of red paper and then cut out the wing, the bird has diamonds and then is outlined in a sparkle copic marker! I like the way he turned out! Oh, well, back to the card board...

I saw this die at Memory Gardens Scrapbook Shoppe and had an idea of what I wanted to do to this little box.

This little box will hold 10 cards and envelopes if they are simple and not overly decorated.

This box was decorated with Stampin' Up! stamps. The one I saw had a recipe theme and I am going to try that next.

of Tom Holtz' new dies! I love this one-Caged Bird! Again I used the Mirabella paper from The Paper Studio and cut my letters from the Cricut cartridge "Don Juan". I just noticed that the ribbon on top fell over when I took this pic. Too bad, it is the same as the bird-green gingham. (I think I have a serious addiction to Tim Holtz-I love all his crafty stuff!!) The cage is painted with Tim Holtz Rock Candy Clear Crackle Paint.

I love this! I bought this book (album, actually) at Tuesday Morning! I think I paid a $1 for it. It was an ugly teal and black color. I re-covered it with Mirabella paper from The Paper Studio. Love that paper-so vintage! The ribbon is from Basic Gray. I'll be posting another one of these later this month.

I was going to throw these little containers out, but then while I was contemplating how cute they were (and eating my Jelly Belly's) I had a thought! The clear pillow container had ribbon in it and the other had pins in it. I will tell you that the one on the right has an easy open back on it-and the "jellies" change daily!

I am following a blog called deadbeat designs stamps. I go there everyday just to see what he is up to...very funny guy! He and several of his friends do a posting called texas tuesday and I thought, "I have a lot of Texas themed stamps. I could do this too!" So here I am. You should know that I bought my first five deadbeat design stamps from the Scrapbook Haus. When I got back home, I went to my LSS and suggested she also stock some deadbeat designs Texas stamps for her store, Memory Gardens Scrapbook Shoppe-and she did! So happy about that! I made this baby girl card for my daughters best friend, Kandi. She and her husband recently had their first child. The little outfit and hat are pop-dotted off the card. I really like how it turned out. Now I just need to go get a gift to go with the card and get them in the mail!

This is the valentine I made for my hubby! I used my brand spankin' new {ippity} stamps I bought from my friend Elisabeth! (Her link is Work of Heart). The name of the set is Straight From The Heart. I love these stamps-they are so cool! I used my copic markers and just kept it very simple.

Maybe I'll get some cards made with this set...for all my valentines!!

OK, so here's the thing...Last Mother's Day (when my dd lived in the big city), we went shopping at JoAnne's and I decided that I really, REALLY needed these zig markers for my prize.

So I got them and they sat in a box on my desk until last night when I decided that they needed to be used or dismissed from my craft room! But, since anyone who knows me will tell you that nothing EVER gets dismissed from the cardsister craft conspiracy without good reason, I had to find a way to keep them a lot more "at the ready", so to speak!

I came up with this idea when I almost threw out the tin can 'cause I couldn't think of anything to do with it. As always MME was the cake and thickers (white vinyl) were the icing!

I guess I should explain the "work-it" block: OK, here goes! That was a piece of wood that dh gave me for another project that didn't...ah...well...just didn't work out the way I had planned. I covered the block of wood with my favorite MME and BG White Chocolate chip letters. I USE it now for stamping on. My table is a little uneven and I have a hard time getting a good press, but this block is working out great! Thanks for stopping by!!

I am so blessed to have such talent surrounding me! This little rocking horse was made by my BIL-Rick for his new grandaughter. Too cute! And even though little Ava is still "tiny", she's gonna love this when she get's big enough to ride! I think Rick did a fantastic job and such a memory for he and Ava to share! Let me see...do I have anything I need made?

This is Christmas card #2-I had hoped I had enough of the first ones to finish out my Christmas card list for 2009, but I was about seven short! I made these with the same idea, a window with a simple picture. I used glimmer mist, liquid applique, stickles and a spica clear pen which I bought from Yolanda at my favorite LSS-Memory Garden Scrapbook Shoppe! The border was made with Fiscars Treading Water punch. Well, I need to get busy-six more to make!

This lo was done based on a trip that my in-laws took to Fredricksburg to buy peaches. The pic in the circle is my mom-in-law making peach pie. The arrow points to a bottle of wine and I labeled that as the "secret" ingredient! I liked doing the lo, it was a lot of fun!

Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Cindy aka cardsister and I love making cards, scrapbooking, making journals and magnets and playing with paper! Be sure and visit all the blogs linked in this "hop" today, we have lots to show you!

MEMORY MAGNET BOARD

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock of your choice
Metal sign
Xyron or Modge Podge
Chain
Trim
Red Line Tape
4 wooden 1 1/2" circles
4-/34" magnets

Prepare the metal sign by wiping it free of dust. Cut paper 1/2" wider than outside of metal sign. Run through large Xyron or use thin layer of Modge Podge to adhere to sign. Distress the paper off the sign with a sanding block. Ink edges with Powder Puff Ink. Roll up 1" at the bottom of sign and put down red line tape. Adhere trim to bottom of sign. If the adhesive will not stick once you put the paper back down, use another line of red tape to adhere. At this point you can measure the length of chain and attach to the top of the sign. Punch four 1 1/2" circles from paper and adhere to wooden circles. Glue magnets on back. You just finished a memory magnet board!

Here is a sample of different types of magnets. The magnets are only limited by your imagination. The two pink ones are bottle caps, the square ones are layered with glossy accents and the round ones are clear marbles. Have fun!

Sandi did Coconut Merinque Pie, Steph did Derby Pie, Christina did a Fluffy Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie and I did Key Lime Pie. This was loads of fun!
